NRG Glass
We are a family business that specialise in the manufacturing and installing of secondary glazing. All the windows are manufactured here in our own workshop, which gives us total control over the quality from manufacturing to installation. If you are unsure what secondary glazing is? It's quite simply the addition of a slim secondary window that fits inside the existing window, which helps in soundproofing and insulating your property.

All of our secondary glazing is made to measure to match the primary window exactly, including powder coating the frames any colour to seamlessly fit into your home to retain the character of your property. We can also glaze the secondary glazing with 6.4mm laminated glass, this will block 99% of UV rays coming into your home, which will stop your furniture fading blinds going brittle etc.

As one of the leading Essex secondary glazing manufacturers and installers, our services are customised to meet your specifications and our products are second to none.
Services
NRG GLASS are a family run business manufacturing and installing bespoke secondary glazing.
Serving Essex, Suffolk, Hertfordshire and London.
NRG GLASS is owned and run by father and son Geoff and Rob Noble.
Geoff has 40 years experience of aluminium fabrication and Rob has 20 years experience of installing secondary glazing.
We teamed in 2010 to start NRG GLASS to combine our expertise and experience to manufacture and install very high quality secondary glazing.
Our typical type of client at NRG GLASS are home owners of listed buildings and property's in conservation areas, these type of property's cannot change their primary windows, so the best way to improve the thermal rating of their windows is to install secondary glazing which is also an excellent sound insulator.
Part L of the building regulations for replacement double glazed windows set a U value of 2.00.
Standard 4mm glass secondary glazing over an average single glazed window achieves a U value of 2.5.
Secondary glazing can be fitted to improve thermal insulation as well as eliminating draughts.
Secondary glazing can improve the thermal insulation of a window by up to 70%.
Draughts through your windows can create cold spots around the room, particularly around the legs and feet, as a result heating is normally turned up higher to compensate.
The cavity or gap between an existing primary window and the secondary unit can make a significant difference to the level of noise insulation.
Unlike sealed units where the two pieces of glass are rigidly coupled together, the primary and secondary windows act as independent barriers to the transmission of noise.
Secondary glazing is an effective method of reducing noise pollution, whether you are looking to guard against noise, road traffic or to retain noise i.e pubs, clubs etc.
By increasing the gap, otherwise known as the cavity, between the existing window and the secondary frame, the better the sound proofing becomes.
Planning Policy Guidance PPG15 recognises that the best way to secure historic buildings is to keep them in active usage and this may involve some adaptation to meet current needs.
The rich tapestry of window designs are an important part of the character of a building and must be retained but single glazed frames are a major source of heat loss, provide little protection against noise and offer minimal resistance to burglary.
Using purpose made Secondary Glazing in listed buildings will improve the buildings environment and make it more attractive to end users by reducing air leakage and heat loss, dramatically improving noise insulation and providing an additional security barrier guidance on windows in Conservation Areas.
NRG Glass have the facility to manufacture our aluminium products in any RAL colour, to your individual colour requirements.
We use industry standard RAL colours, which are a range of over 200 colours available in gloss, semi-gloss and matt finishes, from approved coatings specialists.
The Polyester powdercoat paint is baked onto the aluminium in order to withstand the rigors of all weather conditions and modern living in the UK.
The high quality materials and process used means we can offer a 10 year guarantee on all painted aluminium, giving you peace of mind for years to come.
